A Method for Modeling of Pedestrian Flow in the Space with Obstacles using Laser Range Scanners
نویسندگان
چکیده
The measurement of the pedestrians’ movement has high utility, because many efficient services can be provided for pedestrians with the measurement data. There are some techniques to measure pedestrian traffic and especially the method to measure pedestrian traffic with laser range scanners attracts considerable attention recently. However, the lines of sights of the laser range scanners are obscured by obstacles. Therefore, it is difficult to completely capture all the pedestrians’ movement in the target area. In this paper, we propose a method that estimates pedestrian traffic from sectional population density instead of individual pedestrians’ data. Our method also generates pedestrians flow. We have evaluated the proposed method with ideal scenario data. The experimental results have shown that our method could reproduce pedestrian traffic with about 80% accuracy.

Simulation of Pedestrian Dynamics with Macroscopic and Microscopic Mathematical Models
Here, we collect two parts of a research project on the pedestrian flow modeling. Rapid growth in the volume of public transport and the need for its reasonable, efficient planning have made the description and modeling of transport and pedestrian behaviors as important research topics in the past twenty years. First, we present a macroscopic model for the pedestrian flow based on continuum mec...

In this study, the finite volume method and the SIMPLER algorithm is employed to investigate forced convection and entropy generation of Cu-water nanofluid in a parallel plate microchannel. There are four obstacles through the microchannel, and the slip velocity and temperature jump boundary conditions are considered in the governing equations to increase the accuracy of modeling. The study is ...

The limitation of land in big cities has caused the vertical growth of cities; for example, high-rise buildings on the ground and underground urban facilities can be mentioned. This restriction has increased the value of land in cities, and on the other hand, it has created some new and complicated technical and legal aspects in the cadastral issues. To respond to these new technical and legal ...
متن کاملDense stereo based critical area detection for an active pedestrian protection system
An active pedestrian protection system is required to operate in realtime and produce an extremely low false alarm. To achieve these requirements, Broggi et al. detected critical areas using a laser scanner and found pedestrians only in these areas via a camera. However, using heterogeneous sensors requires complicated system architecture and laser scanners have drawbacks in terms of installabi...
